Writhlington Orchid Project Remembers Prince Philip

April 19th, 2021 | Orchid Project School News

This week students from the Writhlington School’s Orchid Project are remembering the support given to the project by Prince Philip. The Prince was introduced to Writhlington students at a Royal Horticultural Society event in London in 2004 (photo attached). Prince Philip was very interested to hear about the students’ work, both at school and supporting conservation in tropical communities. Teacher Simon Pugh-Jones remembers, “The Duke of Edinburgh was fantastic with the students reflecting his interest in both the development of young people, and conservation.”
