Writhlington Student Achieves With The Prince’s Trust

December 11th, 2019 | School News

Writhlington School is proud of our link with The Prince’s Trust, through their Achieve programme we are able to develop tailored programmes for students who benefit from additional support.

One such student is Austin. As a result of his dysprasxia he can find the school environment challenging. Austin’s confidence has increased due to the support provided by Mr Wright and the Achieve Programme. He has also developed new skills.

Austin recently took part in a two-day  workshop at the prestigious Hauser and Wirth Gallery in Somerset. As part of the project he produced a linocut of a cheetah’s spots which was then printed onto a t-shirt.

The Frome Standard recently documented Austin’s achievements.

We are very proud of the support we give to all our students. It is important that young people are given the opportunity to achieve and be the best they can regardless of any challenges they may face. – Mr Everett, Headteacher
