Remembrance Parade

November 11th, 2019 | Extra Curricular Success School News

The strong Writhlington Combined Cadet Force contingent provides our students with a range adventurous and educational activities that excite them. We are really proud of how the cadets face these challenges and it has become part of our school life that students dress in either Army fatigues or Royal Naval uniform when their contingent meet.

In the presence of Major (Retd) Price, Major Marshall, Capt Taylor, ASLt Latham and Mr Everett (Headteacher), our cadets held a remembrance for the fallen and those who have served or are serving our country. It was very moving, when today, at 11 o’clock on 11th November, our CCF lowered the Standards to honour and respect our fallen heroes.

Lest we forget.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

‘For the Fallen’ – Laurence Binyon
