Frome Rugby Tournament

September 26th, 2019 | Sports News

Our Year 11 team had a fantastic start to the rugby season, beating all three teams in the Frome Rugby Tournament on Wednesday 18 September. The first game was played against a very strong Clarendon team. Our students showed great self-control in reply to Clarendon’s poor sportsmanship when Jaydon burst through the center of the ruck. Their poor behaviour resulted in them being taken straight home. We are very proud of how our students handled themselves, walking away from the situation and refusing to be drawn in or allow the situation to escalate, and deserved the praise they received from the Clarendon ref/pe teacher.

Our strong performance continued against Wellway with tries coming from Joel F, Ben S and Bosco. The final game against Frome College and the team enjoyed this confrontation. Joel F was awarded man of the match as he demonstrated he was in a different class both with his turn of speed and also his power which saw him score a hat-trick of tries.

This year our Year 11s were joined by three Year 10 boys, Jack, Matthew, and Finnan. Well done and thank you for stepping up a year group and playing for the year 11s in this tournament.
