Year 7 Boys Cricket v Chew Valley

June 17th, 2019 | Sports News

On 5 June our Year 7 Cricket team celebrated their first victory.

Having won the toss, Chew Valley were first to bat. With energetic fielding and great bowling, Writhlington held Chew Valley to a score of 60. During this innings, Barclay making a stunning catch on the boundary.

Writhlington’s attempt to start chasing the runs started poorly, after 4 overs Writhlington were 18-5 due to a flurry of wickets.  Seb and George came on to bat, settling into a winning partnership scoring 41 and putting victory into Writhlingtons grasp. Needing only two runs, Seb was caught but luckily these were scored by the remaining batsmen.

A real team effort, Writhlington deserved their 4 wicket victory.
