12 student in Years 9 and 10 have been very fortunate to be selected for a 9 week program called ‘Raising the Game’. The sessions are part classroom based but mostly practical and are centred on the principles of ‘Growth Mindset’ and ‘Mental Toughness’.
After having signed and agreed to ‘player contracts’ for conduct, the boys involved have been encouraged to think constructively about their futures, making positive choices and rising to and overcoming challenges.
Jonathan Woods, the Program Lead has been very impressed that the group have settled into a great routine, are showing respectable levels of self-discipline, commitment and good humour.
Individuals on this program, that continue to give 100% and engage positively with the activities are set to be reward with an official ‘Bath Rugby’ tie, which they will be permitted to wear on any future sports fixtures, as well as around the school, for the duration of the program.
Mr Wright comments that he’s been really delighted to be able to establish the link with the charitable arm of such a prestigious premiership Rugby Club such as Bath and also in turn for such a group of keen students to benefit from participation in such a worthwhile and potentially life skills enhancing intervention.’
