Students travelled to Monkton Coombe for the North Somerset play off of the Lady Taviners competition to compete against Monkton and Millfield in a three way draw.
Writhlington took on Monkton in the first game and batting first soon found themselves in trouble with the score on 36-6 in only the third over. At this point Flo Gardner and Lottie Craven-Smith stepped up to the crease and with some heroic batting and running between the wickets amassed an amazing total of 110-6 . Monkton made a good fight back but scores of 100+ are difficult to contest in the indoor format and despite their best efforts could only reach 92 all out.
Writhlington v Millfield was the second match and with a number of county standard players in their side this was always going to be a tough game. Batting first Writhlington made 63 all out , a score which Millfield passed with two overs to spare finally reaching a total of 110-1.
The final game between Millfield and Monkton saw Millfield victorious after posting a massive total of 122, however as two teams progress to the next round Writhlington and Millfield will both represent the North at the County finals in Taunton in the coming weeks.
