Five students from across Writhlington and Writhlington Sixth, took part in the National Schools Trampolining Finals, held in Newcastle.

The girls successfully qualified to the final round of this years schools Trampoline Championships from 2 previous competitions, The Regionals and The Southern Zonal. Performers placing in the top 2 teams and top 3 individuals from each event were then selected to progress to the next round.    

Imogen Young, Megan Davis and Rebecca Coombs all competed as a team in the under 19 girls intermediate, Lucy Davis in the under 19 girls novice and Izzy Young in the under 14 girls novice.

Team manager Melissa Reeves commented:

I am so proud of each and every one of them. What talented performers who so real grit and determination. We may have had a few nervous wobbles in our voluntary routines but they showed some beautiful form and execution of skills. They are a true team supporting each other and coaching staff at all times. Congratulations and keep it up girls…’re doing an amazing job!!       

Rebecca Commented:
I am really proud of our team, our set routine would scored amazingly and would have placed us in second however we were not quite as polished in our Voluntary routine. These competitions are amazing experience and it is always good to see other talented sportsman from other school. Every competition is a learning curve.
