Writhlington’s Under 13 girls Cricket team travelled to Kingswood School Bath for the North East Somerset leg of the ‘Chance to Compete’ Cricket competition .
Writhlington played the hosts Kingswood in their opening match and after winning the toss opted to field first. Kingswood put in a strong batting performance in their seven overs but were held to a score of 85-1 as Writhlington bowled and fielded well.
Playing to their strengths, Writhlington ran between the wickets managing to score off nearly every ball to overthrow the hosts total with an over to spare as they accumulated a final total of 90-5.
Versus St Gregory’s the team won the toss once again elected to field first. St Gregory’s played exceptionally well with a final score of 69-2. A couple of early wickets from Writhlington gave St Gregs some hope but Writhlington held their nerve to accumulate 100 for the loss of 3 wickets ensuring a comprehensive first round win that will take them through to the North Somerset play off later this term.
Congratulations to all involved.
