Year 10 student, Finaly Scott and Year 11 student, Katie Duffy have had a fantastic half term ending triumphantly as they qualify for the National Pistol Championships in Cardiff in January.
The students went to Leweston School in Dorset for the Southern Schools 10m Air Pistol Championships, competing against hundreds of young people from 50 schools from London, South Wales and the South West.
The final was a knock out competition between the top 8 scorers from the qualification round. Finlay qualified with the top score of the Intermediates and went on to come second and claim the silver medal. Katie qualified 7th and came 5th overall in the senior final with just a 5 point difference between her and the top scorer.
Year 10 student, Finlay Scott commented:
‘It was a really great experience competing for the Intermediate Individual team and I am so pleased I have made it through to the Championships in Cardiff. I have been training since I was 8, we train twice a week for Tetrathlon, working on our swimming, running and shooting it is really hard work but I love it.’
