Epic Win For Year 9 Girls

Writhlington Year 9 Girl’s Hockey team have had an exceptional seasons with some well played games leaving them unbeaten and at the very top of the league. The team made their way to an exciting final held at the Spring Games in Bristol.

Excited, but nervous, the year 9 girls team took their positions to play their first game against Gordano School. Writhlington Girls, eager to maintain their untarnished record, took to the pitch with a strong display of defence and some clever attack. Working really well together, by half time the nerves had settled and the girls were leading 2-1. A few tactical changes for the second half really paid off and resulted in a 2-1 win.

For their second match the team faced Redlands School. Writhlington Girls looked strong and felt determined to take another victory. Writhlington’s fiery attack ensured possession of the ball and very quickly secured a 2-0 head start. Promising attacks constantly added pressure and resulted in a happy secure win.

Two victories and an unbeaten record concluded the Year 9 Hockey Team’s season.
