Writhlington and Mendip Studio School students had a visit from renowned childrens’ author, Jeremy De Quidt writer of The Feathered Man and The Toymaker, as part of their World Book Day celebrations.

Creative book characters greeted Jeremy in reception before leading him to the Dragonfly Theatre, packed with eager students, excited to hear the tales and stories from his latest book.

Jeremy joined Library Ambassadors for a special lunch and Question and Answer session before judging the whole school World Book Day costume competition.

Year 9 student, Martha Whittle said;

Jeremy was really exciting to listen to, he read extracts from his book and everyone was completely captivated by his story. I can’t wait to read all his book!.

A big thank you to Hunting Raven Book Shop in Frome, who not only organised Jeremy’s visit but very kindly also donated a selection of books to our Library.
