Writhlington and Mendip Studio School students travelled to the University of Bath to take part in this year’s Inclusive Zone Basketball Championships.

Inclusive Zone Basketball (IZB) enables players with a physical disability to represent their school and region alongside their peers in a fun, fast-paced game.

Our team won the Championships and now as Regional Champions will compete at the prestigious National Finals on Wednesday 27 April at the University of Worcester, the home of the European Wheelchair Basketball Championships 2015 where the GB Men and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Teams qualified for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Year 12 Team Member, Nicole Perera said:

The team did an amazing job and we put all our efforts into winning all of our matches. We played against Swindon College, Ralph Allen and Three Ways School once and Swindon College twice. Everyone was in great spirits and we are super excited to be representing the South West at the National Finals at Worcester.’
