Our first game was really tough, we were up against Wellsway School and by the second half we were already down 2 – 0. Some skilful footwork from Evander Grubb saw the team back in the game with a quick fire goal in the back on the net. Tom Markey came onto the pitch to score an equalizing goal with still 7 minutes to play. The team knew they could go all the way and after an intense 7 minutes the whistle blew and the final score was Writhlington 6 Wellsway 3.
In the next game we played Oldfield School, Will Rawlings put us in the lead straight away with a fine strike, followed by Captain, Will Lacey, belting one low and hard into the bottom corner. The game continued with Writhlington dominating the game to finish Writhlington 8 Oldfield 0
Our game against St Gregory’s saw Tom Williams, Harry Matthews and Hugo Wharton doing some fine defending and the game soon ended with Writhlington securing another astonishing 8-0 win!
We then faced the mighty Beechen Cliff School, it remained 0-0 at half time but the second half saw Will Rawlings quickly score. With new confidence, Evander Grubb smashed one in the back of the net after a phenomenal long ball from Tom Ellis Rickets. Will Lacey volleyed one home to bring the game to 3-0. Harry Matthews came up from the back to score followed by Tom Markey, Evander Grubb and Tom Ellis Rickets.. The game ended Writhlington 7 Beechen Cliff 0

Nine players headed off to Odd Down Playing Fields to return back home unbeaten! It was an amazing feeling travelling away and coming back with our heads held higher than the sky. The boys represented the school with pride!
