Writhlington’s Christmas celebrations concluded with the annual Christmas Concert, performed by students, parents and staff.

The show opened with with an atmospheric solo performed Year 13 student Megan Tudor setting the tone for what was an exceptional evening of music.

Writhlington’s music department showcased some of their finest talents with performances from the string, wind, stage and senior bands followed by a musical rendition of White Winter Hymnal by the school choir.

A special thank you was presented to the year 7 students who for most, had not only picked up an instrument for the first time just 3 months before but performed spectacularly at their first Writhlington performance.

Head of Music, Joanne Briggs, commented:

‘Writhlington is bursting at the seams with talented musicians and it was a real honour to be responsible for bringing them together for the annual Christmas Concert. Staff and students worked incredibly hard and testament to that was the overwhelming response from our audience.’

You can next see Writhlington on stage on Saturday 6 February as they perform alongside Mendip Music Centre and Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club .
