Last week students were visited by local children’s author Joffre White, as he introduced his latest book from the FROG series, Frog and the Tree of Spells.

With over 350 visits to local primary and secondary schools under his belt, Joffre presented to Year 10 Writhlington and Mendip Studio School students, sharing his experiences of the writing world and his passion for achievement and adventure. A captivated audience heard tales of failures, rejections and success before launching into a question and answer session.

Sixth Form students were also invited to attend a bespoke careers seminar focusing on CV writing, life skills and confidence building. Joffre shared his experiences and his journey to success and happiness.

Librarian Nikki Elsom said:

It was a really successful day and students left motivated, inspired and excited to take on new challenges and of course read his new book. Joffre certainly received a good grilling over lunch from our Library Ambassadors who had endless questions about the writing process and his books.
