New Bus Routes For Students

November 1st, 2015 | School News

New school bus routes will be on offer for Writhlington School and Mendip Studio School pupils from September 2016.

The school is hoping to welcome students from a wider radius by offering dedicated transport to the school.

There will be three routes taking in towns and villages and will see coaches travel from Midsomer Norton through Westfield and Radstock to the school for the first time.

The others routes will see transport from Leigh on Mendip, Mells, Vobster and Babington and from Rode, Tellisford, Woolverton and Norton St Philip.

The school also plans to offer transport from Farmborough, High Littleton and Paulton in the future.

Head teacher Mark Everett said: \\\"Writhlington School has responded to parents\\\' feedback that they would like greater choice when looking at secondary schools. Parents have asked for a creative solution to transport links from the villages to enable their children to access both Writhlington and Mendip Studio School from September 2016.

\\\"For those students who do not qualify for Local Authority transport, we currently run two buses from the Frome area including Beckington, Great Elm and Buckland Dinham and we are expanding the offer to include the new routes.\\\"

The services will be operated by Buckland Dinham-based bus company Libra Travel.
