Presenting to youth clubs across Peasedown and Radstock, Carenza was nominated for her work developing a Road Safety campaign, in memory of her cousin Neil Drew who was killed in an accident near Emerson's Green near Bristol last year.
‘My first reaction was to be very angry at the needlessness of his death but I quickly realised that I could help others, educate them on road safety and help them avoid what my cousin and family went through.’
Carenza hopes to set up a charity in her cousin’s name and continue to promote the importance of road safety to a wider audience.
The winner of each Lions' District receives a £500 bursary and the overall winner an additional £1,000, to be used to further their projects.
